  1. This blog used to be fun site for those who were grieving the loss of places and faces in a neighborhood they once knew. They were commenting spiritedly and humoring the hyper gentrification of the EV. It was a forum to grieve, to have a community, where and when the EV of then once had a community. Now those commenters are hardly here commenting, maybe they've moved out or most likely they've been pushed out by these anonymous and newbies who don't even know what was in the EV of 4 yrs. ago and have respect on the past. They think the neighborhood is all about bars, brunches, cupcakes, froyos, glass condos, developers and woooos. Maybe most of the commenters really are just trying to be nice and mean well. But I have noticed that a number of people who used to comment along with a lighthearted and thoughtful discussion no longer do so--it is because they don't want to continue engaging with the same crowds who have disprespected the neighborhood and are now commenting here disrespecting this site and other people's grief and that their needs and wants are more important issue to discuss.

It was great knowing and having read the posts and most of the comments here. But the haughtiness, disregard, and insolence of the newcomers here or in real life are just too much to take. Hope everyone had good summer. Soon the leaves will be turning and falling and so will I and stop reading this blog.

  2. Oh, it's a long long while
    From May to December
    But the days grow short
    When you reach September

    When the autumn weather
    Turns leaves to flame
    One hasn't got time
    For the waiting game

    Oh, the days dwindle down
    To a precious few
    September, November

    And these few precious days
    I'll spend with you
    These precious days
    I'll spend with you
