Photo Tech leaving East 13th Street

Photo Tech Repair Service is moving away from its home on East 13th Street between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue ... they'll be merging with their West 34th Street location... And the space is for lease.

Interesting to see what happens along here at the southeast corner of Fourth Avenue and East 13th Street where Brothers Deli and Dryden Gallery cleared out... Construction has picked up again...

Heard a few rumors of a restaurant for the corner spot... Anyway, the listing looked like this...

The hotel has completely changed the game for the small businesses of 4th Avenue...more "west Bleecker Street" coming this way?

Apparently Photo Tech wants to stay, but the landlord will not fix persistent flooding and leaking issues in the ancient pipes.

Hi Grieve. Both spots will be food businesses . One will be Pie Face . The other will be Juice Generation. Looked into this spot a while back for a possible TSB II. The $35,000 they wanted for the corner forced me to reconsider ;-)

Photo Tech does good work. I'll still continue to bring my lenses to them but it will just be less convenient.

I lived in that building a few years ago and I believe the comment about leaking pipes and unresponsive landlord.

Our landlord was Manoco (which according to Streeteasy still manage the building) and they were horrible. The building was converted to apartments in a very haphazard and sloppy way and there were constant issues with leakage and maintenance.

I still live close to there and see that they have spent some money tarting up the lobby and painting the exterior, but the interior of the building is very poorly maintained and managed (since the original knowledgeable super committed suicide and was not replaced).

Unfortunately this area is not changing for the better - I'm planning on selling and moving somewhere that is not over-run with NYU students who have more money than I do. I know many of my neighbors feel the same way. It's a shame

" I know many of my neighbors feel the same way. It's a shame" - is not a shame, its a Bloomberg success story!
