[March 12]
On March 12, the city closed This Little Piggy Had Roast Beef for "for operating without a permit."
A handwritten note appeared a few days later here at 149 First Ave. noting the oversight with the paperwork…

The says that they'd reopen "early in the week" (this being the week of March 17).
Now, though, an eviction notice has arrived on the door…

The notice is dated today.

Don't think I've ever mourned the loss of a sandwich more.
The last sandwich I tried there was their pastrami, its was tough, gnarly fragmented crumbled dried and overpriced.
@nygrump That's too bad. I hadn't eaten there in a while, but when they first opened their pastrami was some of the best I'd ever tasted.
How does a restaurant forget to renew its permit? Isn't that an important thing to have?
I can't say I'm overly distraught about this…
Your right 6:38pm. Maybe they didn't renew their permit because they already knew they had a sinking ship.
Not saying I know anything of what was happening with that little piggie.
I was very fond of their beef stew.
Beef stew waaaay too salty, sandwich beef was just gray and gristly. Only good thing was the Cheez Whiz. Make yourself a sandwich at home, this place was a dump. God only knows what they're going to put in the space instead...
Beef stew was excellent I think.....
I liked this place. Hard to see whatever comes next being a step up....
This was the space where Black Hound started out.
