
EVG reader @Jason_Chatfield shared these photos via Twitter this week... showing that city crews have added a conventional bike lane — with pavement markings and signage — on Third Street ...

He notes that the lane extends from Avenue D to Second Avenue for now...

Better than nothing, glad to see it, but paint is not going to protect anyone from vehicles.
If you ride a bike on 3rd street be very aware of passengers doors opening without notice.
They should call these “merely suggestion lanes” ... same with the red lights.
