Sad. I remember when this site was Ratner’s Restaurant. I could still see the white linen tablecloths on the round dining tables. It was quite elegant.

ReplyDeleteA major loss to the neighborhood. A supermarket existed in this space since the 60s.
ReplyDeleteI remember thinking years ago, that wont last, they proved me wrong but still dont know how they lasted so long.
ReplyDeleteOne of the vestiges of Ratner's—don't know how many people noticed this—were the red-and-gold-leaf tiles in the vestibule.
