Sad. I remember when this site was Ratner’s Restaurant. I could still see the white linen tablecloths on the round dining tables. It was quite elegant.

I already miss it.
A major loss to the neighborhood. A supermarket existed in this space since the 60s.
I remember thinking years ago, that wont last, they proved me wrong but still dont know how they lasted so long.
One of the vestiges of Ratner's—don't know how many people noticed this—were the red-and-gold-leaf tiles in the vestibule.
I don't remember anything but a supermarket being here; does Tisch/NYU have plans to reclaim the space?
