This is what Second Avenue and Houston looked like on Jan. 7, 2012
This year, we'll post photos like this of various buildings, streetscenes, etc., to capture them as they looked at this time and place... The photos may not be the most telling now, but they likely will be one day...

Your remarks and lively debates are welcome, whether supportive or critical of the views herein. Your articulate, well-informed remarks that are relevant to an article are welcome.
However, commentary that is intended to "flame" or attack, that contains violence, racist comments and potential libel will not be published. Facts are helpful.
If you'd like to make personal attacks and libelous claims against people and businesses, then you may do so on your own social media accounts. Also, comments predicting when a new business will close ("I give it six weeks") will not be approved.
This is a good idea. The photo will come in useful when we have to gather for our online memorial. :(
ReplyDeleteDIG IT!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea, can't go wrong with documentation!
ReplyDeleteI've taken to taking short videos of streets/intersections. Even just ten seconds shows the buildings and traffic enough to create a time capsule. I'm sad when I do it, but some day, these bits could be strung together into something...
ReplyDeleteI really like that idea, Goggla.
ReplyDeleteI started doing that at bars. 60 seconds at various places. Maybe 8 in total. Just background. Sort of aimed out a window. Capturing the background sound, the street life. Of course, now I can't find the videos anywhere. But I do have one from the Mars Bar.
@Grieve - that could make for an interesting documentary.
ReplyDeleteI've got many videos from Mars, taken on the sly...must wait for all involved to pass on before releasing to the public... ;)
