There's a new mural on the Bowery at East Houston... Pure Genius quoting a recent tweet by President Trump that undermined messages by public health officials and outraged relatives who lost loved ones to COVID-19...

Baby Yoda has left, but we have Princess Leia

The Baby Yoda mural's time has come to an end here at the Second Avenue F stop.

However, there is a Princess Leia wheatpaste courtesy of the Postman Collective as a consolation.



As for the new work here, Will Power, who created the Baby Yoda on Jan. 11-12, teamed up with Albertus Joseph for the mural, titled "Gritty City Style."

About the new mural outside Key Food

If you've been by (or to!) Key Food on Avenue A in the past month then you've likely seen the mural on the Fourth Street wall...



Artolution — "a community-based public art organization that seeks to ignite positive social change through collaborative art making" — is behind this project.

A group of young artists from Central America created the various characters seen on the mural.



The mural was officially unveiled on July 20... and here's what's next for the work...

A sneak peek of today’s big reveal. Each of the individual characters were created by youth who escaped ongoing violence in Central American countries to find refuge in the United States. Their characters and the movements they developed with @kj3t will come to life later in August through Augmented Reality technology. 'Karma Police' at the Gatsby Hotel

The Gatsby Hotel on East Houston at Forsyth has a new mural to liven up its rather generic exterior ...



The piece is by Brooklyn-based Rubin415 and titled "Karma Police."

Some love for the former Yaffa Cafe mural space

NYC street artist Hektad is creating one of his heart murals outside 97 St. Mark's Place between Avenue A and First Avenue...

The wall space was home to the Yaffa Cafe mural for nearly 23 years. A worker painted over that back in May. The cafe closed for good after 31 years in September 2014.

A new restaurant, Taberna 97, will be opening here soon.
