Im sorry but during the 1970’s from the corner of 2nd ave to where the closed chinese restaurant is was a dry cleaners called R&S, they moved to 2nd ave in the 1980’s where the closed pizza shop in now currently. I remember this well because the dry cleaners had a dry cleaning facility on site, that distinctive dry clean smell would linger in the air.
Even worse than being a chain, 5 Guys commits the mortal sin of burgers by not permitting you to order it anything less than medium. What self-respecting burger place won't let you order a rare or medium-rare burger? Reason enough to never go there, though I do admit that their fries are pretty good.

It’s a chain. I don’t know about you but I didn’t move to the east village 25 years ago out of love for chain restaurants.

I got one of their pyrex glass pie dishes at home with me when they've left it outside the restaurant as it was closing .will forever treasure it!
