Don't pay attention to anonymous July 23, 2008 3:27 PM, EV Grieve. That person is just being caustic. He/she is most likely a yunnie. This person shows up in Curbed/Eater/Racked with the same question over and over, whenever a yunnie is mentioned. Being a narcissist, (s)he just fulfilling that need for admiration.
actually I have never heard the term. Nor have I ever asked any such question on any other site. Clearly you have anger issues. I suppose you're a "yullie" (young urban loser).
is it not narcissistic to claim a neighborhood for yourself? Listen, I'm a 36 year old guy who grew up in the Bronx and lives in the East Village. I suppose that makes me a "transplant" to people who grew up in the East Village too and I'm probably lumped in with these "yunnies" if you saw me on my cell phone in the park, which is sad. You cannot judge someone before you know them. As an East Village liberal, you should know that, but then most of the purported liberal east villagites i've known are some of the most closeminded people i've ever met. and thats truly sad.

Of course, one would have some sort of anger issues, if they have to deal with a narcissist mucking up the city, unless you're a narcissist yourself.
