Guns N' Roses will play at Webster Hall on Feb. 15 during part of a three-NYC-venue tour to coincide with Fashion Week, according to Rolling Stone. Per RS:

"The band last played Webster Hall in 1988 for a historic gig that was taped for MTV. The venue was called the Ritz back then, and to celebrate Guns N' Roses' return, the club will rename itself the Ritz when the band plays on February 15th."

Actually, if we REALLY want to be pedantic, the last time Guns N' Roses played The Ritz, it was 1991 -- when The Ritz moved uptown to the old Studio 54 site. `Twas at that show wherein they filmed the video for "You Could Be Mine." And not to sound like James Murphy, but I WAS THERE. I still have my voucher. Yay.

Renaming the venue to something that it was when GnR first played there is the dumbest thing I've heard all day. Why on earth would it even matter what the venue is named when GnR plays here in 2012.

Why does everything have to be marketed to such an extreme?

There can be no Guns and Roses without Slash.

Guns N Roses ain't nothin' without Axl and Slash together. Who remembers the names of the other members? Who cares???

I was at the "historic gig" at the Ritz... if you watch the show on MTV you can see me in the first/second row in front of Slash. I was 22. Ah...

Well, technically, Izzy, Duff and Steven. There, that wasn't so tough, was it?

It'd be great if Velvet Revolver and the [2002] Guns 'N' Roses would merge for the concert at Webster Hall. (and that guitarist can wear, instead of the KFC, an IHOP or 7-11 bucket or a fro-yo cup to reflect the sign of the times in the EV).

Stradlin, McKagan, Adler if you want to get hypertechnical about it.

Wasn't Joe "Mama" Besser in there somewhere?

I fingered some chick there and never even saw the show. Yes it was called the Ritz then.

I've already seen GnR bassist Tommy Stinson there -- in 1986, with the Replacements. Paul broke his hand when someone threw a beer can and Bob got thrown out of the band shortly afterward...
