very cool. yee haa! and so lovely to see a blog on the gorgeous EV - used to live on the LES a decade ago and peruse the EV often. living back down under now. much love to those in the coolest part of the Big Schnapple x
at one time an organized building, or one on rent strike, attracted buyers who thought they could offer a lower price because the current landlord had a "difficult" building. it was very interesting.
Wouldn't this just encourage a more aggressive landlord/speculator to buy the building? I'm sure it could add some leverage to the buyer if it's a "problem building."

So the tenants "will not stand for a campaign of aggressive evictions"? It's almost a dare.
OCCUPY EAST EIGHTH STREET!!!!
Amazing. We should put this on every building on the LES

Buildings are expensive enough, who would want to buy a lawsuit as well? This is an attempt to speak to a landlord in their own language: $$$$$$$.
As a tenant lawyer and successful rent striker, the sooner a tenant realizes the only thing a landlord understands is money the better.
