Anon 6:31pm - A few years ago, there were Starbucks on 9th and 2nd, St Marks and 3rd, and another in Astor Place. I'm pretty sure Subway is the new Starbucks.
That is their business model- put one every few blocks so you're never more than a 5 minute walk away from them- it's like a security blanket for tourists so they don't have to go into those scary bodegas

Overkill. There's a Starbucks on 17th Street and First, 9th Street and 2nd, and 15th Street and 3rd. They're officially the new Subway.

We're desperate for casual space, bars don't fulfill that roll. the parks suck.
Give a huge THUMBS DOWN every time you walk by and say, "BOOOOOOO!!!! No Chains in the village!"
Patrons will "enjoy" their a little less.

Williamsburg is starting to look appealing.
