Citi Bike docking station magically arrives overnight on E. 2nd. St.
Ah! @BennyPack reports that a Citi Bikes docking station was there waiting this morning on the southeast corner of Avenue C and Second Street. Anyone else wake up to a docking station in front of their building or street?

They installed these in the middle of the night? Is it legal to do construction work over night? Who is the contractor?
no, it's not even legal to be out in the middle of the night. That's why there's a curfew. No one can use a public street at night. Dropping off some bike racks, with no noise or disturbance to anyone, is definitely not legal.
Incidentally, I've heard that some people are so dead-set against the bike share program that they've lost all sense of proportion and react with hysteria. This is just a rumor, though.
Suffolk street @ Stanton was installed yesterday. Wasn't smooth. Neighbors pushed back because of the loss of parking and they couldn't finish because they didn't have the authority to move cars. The "project manager" didn't help as he was being a dick.
If they're not actually installed, wouldn't it theoretically be possible to hitch the docking station to my pickup truck and drive it to downtown Portland where it really belongs?
I could theoretically ride a bicycle...practically, well, the jury is still out on that. My equilibrium ain't what it was 20 years ago. Maybe I'll get me a 3-wheeler.
Noticed Stanton & Suffolk only about 2/3 complete, wondered why...
Ridge & Rivington supposed to go in today...no parking signs between Pitt & Ridge were up and area on southeast corner was coned off this AM. This afternoon, cones have been moved to southwest corner and no parking signs have been removed. Unclear whether this was done by proper authorities or entitled car types.
I see so many flat tires in the future for these things. I think its going to keep them from being used. There are still many dicks in the neighborhood who will give them flats for fun.

There is nothing to install. The weight keeps them in place.

Awesome! If they're not installed it'll be even easier to knock them over with my car. Oops!

Woo! Citi Slasher!
I think they are airless tires.
