Another East Village cat reunion

As we first reported earlier this morning, the NYPD and ASCPA found Sebastian (left) and Kitty Cordelia, who had been missing inside 125 Second Ave. following last Thursday's explosion. We also heard that searchers found an unharmed Laszlo yesterday.

Now eastvillagesiren tells us that Laszlo has been reunited today with his housemate Lulu ... (and their owner Yvonne)... We don't know all the details to the reunion...

By our count, at least three cats remain missing — Sago, Ryce and Leather-Face. And at least one dog has been reported missing, a pit bull named Pepper. The Washington Square Park Blog has more info here.

This is lovely, affirming news. I like to hear stories such as this, especially when tragedy has hit in so many different directions. Good day!

That was one tough week. Thank you for these good news -- at some point you're so drained all you want is just one single life rescued. Aaaww happy cats!

This is what I miss about my old East Village neighbors-everyone coming together as a community to help each other out. I'm glad to hear the good news about the cats. I hope the other owners will be reunited with their pets.

I know everyone has been thinking about rental insurance but I would also consider microchips for pets. I got one for my cat when the ASPCA offered it for $20 with neutering. It costs about $20 a year.

I'm also going to put collars on my cats. If they get out during an emergency, it lets people know that the cat has a home.

Grieve: Not sure if you've posted this info already, but Animal Medical Center has the following cat that it says was found near the explosion area:

Yvonne here, Laszlo was found ON MONDAY by FDNY. The FDNY got me into my apt on Fri as it was still considered to be too dangerous to go into. I FOUND Lulu hiding in a bureau drawer.
I can't thank Fire Chief Mike Quinn enough for getting me into my apt. Lulu was hiding for six days without any food or water.
You can read about Laszlo's rescue in this weeks Villager. Laszlo and Lulu took a trip to see Dr Paar at Bideawee yesterday to get checked for smoke inhalation and trauma. They both lost a pound.
We have to FIND all the other 4 cats now. Ryce,Sago,Sylvie and Leatherface.
