In somewhat related news, Christmas tree vendors are complaining that they are having trouble getting guidance from the city about how to set up their sidewalk stands due to concerns about coronavirus, and this might seriously disrupt their business this year. So if you were wondering, what else could go wrong to in 2020? No Christmas trees, that’s what.
Good point Giovanni, as most of us cannot imagine what life may be like after November 3rd. I suppose the whole New Years eve won't happen in Times Square either.
The word is being used to denote chaos and lawlessness, not mutual aid. What we have locally is law by edict, or socialism through a thousand cuts. Now they want to fill up the streets with brutal air pollution from giant bunsen burners to keep the drinkers warm outside. They stole our parking spaces, our sidewalks and now they are coming for our air. The precious millenials and centennials don't care, they are surrounded by their servants - the waiters, uber drivers, amazon delivery people - all the underpaid no benefit workers who serve them wearing masks so the precious ones don't even need to look at the faces of their servants!
@noble neolani abc news reported today that Times Square would be closed off this nye and there will be virtual activities instead of crowds. An empty times sq.... Now *there’s* a photo for Instagram D:
Stefan checked in a few minutes ago.....sez there's going to be a pop-up CovidChristmas bar SOMEwhere east of the Park, whose specialty will be table-sized used-swab faux Christmas trees (some of the hep-cats have already named them TrumpTrees).....which you can paint and light-up while your waiting for one of their Pan(demic)PopFry Bloomin' Rat Heads (note: BedBug Gravy will be extra)......
He also said that this was the fresh-ist comment he had seen so far.....it's a HOOT!
