I'm curious to see how this one plays out... there have already been numerous complaints about the bar scene on the upper stretch of Avenue A... Jill has noted this... and she took this shot in front of Drop Off Service last summer, for an idea of what life is usually like here on the weekends...

I have been praying this place wouldn't be a bar. Enough is enough already. Can we stop this, or can they automatically transfer the liquor license from The Raven?
Its NIMBYish to say this, and I don't even live in the area, but you can have too many bars within a few blocks and parts of Avenues A and B have hit the saturation point. They all blend in with each other after awhile.
I was told that is that it is actually the same owners of The Raven trying to re-open with a new concept of a bar with food "in a similar concept as Common Ground."
I tried to call them at their bar in Greenpoint to ask some questions but they were on vacation this week.
In the spirit of Ed's blending together comment, they are advertising the space as "vanilla" so it will fit right in.
