EV Grieve reader Steve Carter passed along this shot from East Eighth Street near Avenue C (roughly early 1990s)...
...and we attempted to line it for for a now-and-then...
From 1983-1985, the address was home to the performance space 8BC...

Is that the same exact car in front of the building? Maybe a Toyota Camry?
@Kurt I was going to say the same thing! Someone doesn't want to give up their parking spot!
Hahaha! This might be a record for holding a parking space.
8BC! Really a seminal performance space in the EV.
I wonder if the huge piece on the wall is one of David Wojnarowicz's.
The graffiti face is awesome.
In the "then" photo, I believe that's a 1996-2001 Toyota Camry. (See the upturned, spoiler-like trunk with thin rectangular tailight strips.)
In the "now" photo, while I believe it's still a Toyota Camry, I think it's a 2006-2011 or maybe 2012 model. (See the humpback or turtle shell trunk.)
But maybe it's the same owner.
I think the face on the building is a tribute to Micheal Wilson , the original coney island freak show illustrated man. He died in 1996, which would make a post 1996 Camry a good guess.
At least the willow is still there.
On closer examination, I think the car in the "then" photo is a 1994-1997 Honda Accord.

Does anyone know the exact address of 8BC? I was there once or twice. Once to interview Cornelius.
Also, does anyone remember the old synagogue down the block, closer to Av B?
