Per Movin' on Up: "The spot [owner Uli Rimkus] secured for the bar is on the southern patio of Convention Hall, jutting out onto the beach. The view could not be more picturesque."

does Uli really care anything about the East village other than Max Fish?
I paid a visit to the Asbury Park outpost this last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. They're in a prime boardwalk location with a fantastic view of the beach. I really enjoyed being there and expect them to do well.
