Someone finally bought this home after four years on the market

That beautiful home (a single-family Anglo-Italianate townhouse!) over at 123 E. 10th St. between Second Avenue and Third Avenue has been on the market for more than four years...

But!

Crain's reports today that an unnamed buyer finally, um, bought the five-story, 4,200-square-foot home close to its asking price of $6.25 million.

Its neighbor at 125 is also on the market. A buyer could have, er, bought both and combined them for $12.5 million ... or not. Jason Haber, co-founder of Rubicon Property, the broker since February 2011, believes the purchaser will purchase 125 in the end as well.

The two began life on the market at $19.5 million.

And a brief history of the address via Streeteasy...

Damn. I purposefully walk by this place and envision myself walking up those stairs and drinking afternoon tea in the garden!

And how long before we hear about the second building being bought and the two of them either razed to put up "upscale"housing, or plans are filed to add three stories to the roof line?

With beautiful places like this available, why do these assholes have to make dozens of people homeless to carve their "mansions" out of apartment buildings? I guess the answer is, because they can.

Something must really be wrong when I'm thinking "wow! 6 million is totally reasonable for a 5 story house!" There are one bedroom condos going for waaay more than that these days.

I just walked by the Icon building under construction on Second Ave (near 9th?) and L.E.S Jewels was floundering on the gorund, laying sideways and struggling to pull his pants down.

As he finally got them down, he relaxed as diarhea startied spurting out of his asshole onto the sidewalk.

Poor Icon building.
