Crews for the Paul Bettany-directed "Shelter" were back in Tompkins Square today... the film stars Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly in a "love story set among the homeless living on the streets of Manhattan."
... Bettany, her real-life husband, was also spotted minding one of the couple's children... (or, perhaps, just a random kid...)
Meanwhile, crews were also trimming trees in the Park today, as Dave on 7th noted...
And we forgot to ask how the film crew-tree crew battle ended up...
@evgrieve Now they cleared the grass so they can cut trees. THERE IS AN EPIC BATTLE ABOUT TO HAPPEN HERE.

only in a hollywood movie would one of the most beautiful women on the planet be playing a homeless woman. disingenuous doesn't even begin to cover it. i mean at least get mary-louise parker or jennifer jason leigh who have made entire careers out of mumbling. And don't get me wrong, i have the utmost respect for homeless women. much, much more so than pampered, ego-driven hollywood actresses.
"One of the most beautiful women on the planet"??? What planet would that be?
I had to leave. I assume some cage fights happened and there was blood and body parts everywhere. The dog run is shut today to honor the wounded.
It was a nightmare in the park yesterday - between getting kicked off benches to make way for the film crew, and being blocked from most of the paths by the tree crews, there was nowhere to walk or sit. I'm kind of amazed they were able to shoot the film with all the chainsaws and wood chippers running for hours.
You got the shots now get the eff out-
vomit
boring actress too
I'm staying out of the park until they are finished, cause I don't want to be told that I am not allowed to be there... that would just be too depressing. And it was such a beautiful day!
Luckily no one was filming in front of St. Mark's Church...
Art imitating life..woo woo. Yo.
