The Cooktop Garden has legs

[Monday]

We've been watching the little plot of a former tree and, later, tree stump come alive on St. Mark's Place between Second Avenue and Third Avenue come alive this week.

The latest.

And, perhaps, this plot needs another name... mostly since no one seems to know what a cooktop is! Some discarded cooktops were used to start this whole garden...

Was walking by the guy installing this yesterday. He was absolutely screaming at a little kid to stop crying. It was utterly bizarre and hilarious.

Looks cool, though!

I agree with 7:59 AM. Less was more. The gardener should amputate the legs.

OK, I think I've come around and find this hilarious now. Bahahaha! That phallic gourd takes the biscuit.

I googled cooktop and I still don't understand what it is. Is it a stove? How do you know to call it a cooktop? Did you work at a cooktop store? Is it restaurant lingo? Someone said its like a hot plate, but that's not what I saw from google. I'm befuddled by this new word and would like more time spent on an explanation, including etymology.

Do more research then, Jill. You'll get there!
