After nearly 21 years selling vintage cufflinks, eyeglasses and buttons on East Ninth Street,
Archangel Antiques is calling it a day… the sign out front explains it all…
Check out our Out and About in the East Village feature with store manager Michael Duggan
here.
Thanks to EVG regular William Klayer for the photos.

A real shame. Always have my watches fixed here...

And another loss, great. Anon. 7:55, when Archangel is no longer available, Kathe Jewelry Corp. on 1st Ave. between 13th and 14th does a fine job of watch repairing.
love this place -- will definitely be missed. i was in there quite some time ago and the guy running the shop was telling me he was retiring soon. so the time has finally come ...
Philip, who repairs the watches, will probably be looking for a space, since he was subletting space in this store anyway—he originally had a store down the block, a couple of doors down from Veselka.
I will miss this store; I remember Gail and Rich from when they very first opened. Fortunately I got a few vintage toasters there, and I'll be sure to stop by tomorrow.
IPSWICH Watch and CLOCK SHOP is not going out of business. It's moving to 434 East 11th Street (between 1st Ave. & Ave. A)(Closer to Ave. A). It should be opening the first week of June.
IPSWICH is still repairing and selling watches, clocks and jewelery and will be expanding into Antiques & Collectables with small furniture and more.
