Well, what a day! The Spring Social Season began with not one but two cranes anchored on Avenue A between East Sixth Street and East Fifth Street… there to lift (or whatevs) a new transformer into the Con Ed substation …

Anonymous said...: Wow that is impressive! Considering all this to bring the new transformer in, it was amazing how quietly the old transformer was removed without the large equipment and road blocks....
Coned brought in a group of transformer dismantlers from Iowa and they were very friendly and professional, I spoke with them several times when they were on break. We hardly even knew they were next door working as they removed the old transformer back in January.; March 23, 2014 at 7:11 PM

Also--I could live without their yelling at each other beginning at about 7 every morning.
