We have a note!: 'To the Dirt Bag who stole my black push cart out of the laundry room'

EVG reader stickmanpk sends us these awesome signs spotted in a building in Stuy Town, the land of enchantment…

And there's an update. Apparently there is a cart thief among us!

Do these qualify as Urban Etiquette Signs?

As stickmanpk put it, "This is sort of the opposite of polite. Maybe?

I have no empathy for people who live in buildings with amenities like laundry rooms. Screw them and those damn carts they use to roll their laundry from their apartments into their elevator and down into to their laundry room. Talk about white people problems. P.S. Is anyone in Stuy Town looking for a roommate? It's a plus if you have a cart I can use for laundry purposes.

I'd hardly call doing your own laundry the lush lifestyle.

I've never used the words "dirt bag" and "please" in the same note, letter or email before. Is this a good example of passive - aggressive or someone that realized by the second paragraph that you catch more flies (or laundry carts) with honey than dirt bags.

Anon 7:52, then you've never lived on a 5th floor walkup and had to drag your clothes several blocks to do a wash. But even that is luxury compared to the old days when the women would gather down by the river to wash by hand, of course back then you only had one or 2 sets of clothes, but she had 8 or 10 kids...and it was always a she doing laundry...

Think Stuy Town is lux living? The machines don't clean. The driers don't dry. Security is invisible. Racetrack for bicyclists. Hey, I thought growing up on Ave D was bad!

Try washing your clothes by hand! Jeans, undies etc ... I did as a kid.

To all the clueless posters here. There are still many elderly women, a decent percentage who are of America’s greatest generation, mostly widows,(I know, CW Capital can’t wait for them to die) in Stuyvesant Town who use their shopping carts for laundry, grocery shopping and as a vanity substitute for a walker. Argo to you all, big time.

I am paying a huge rent for a crappy studio with no view so I can walk two blocks to work...

I use ear plugs to block out the multi-year gut renovation next door, due to the demo garbage trucks there every night till 1am and then at six am on saturday... ugh..

BUT.. it has laundries on every other floor and mine is about 50 feet down the hall w two washers/dryers. I drag my wash in my laundry hamper on a leash!
