[Monday night]
Yonekichi opened Monday at 236 E. Ninth St. And with the exception of some Daily News readers, people seem to like their specialty, rice burgers, at this sliver of a take-out spot between Second Avenue and Third Avenue.
So far, at least one neighbor is unhappy about their arrival. To the EVG inbox.
Starting Monday night their new storefront lit up our apartment like a UFO on an abduction hunt. They have 16 exterior lights hanging above their store in addition to their interior lights. They are so bright. To put it in perspective, there's a film crew shooting down the block and their lights don't even come close.
Some blackout curtains may be in order for the evening business hours.
Still, there's one bright side, so to speak.
"Thank God they kill the lights at 10."

Idea location if you suffer from no light winter depression.
I have enjoyed my meal both times I ate there. I'm getting to like it a lot. I will eat there again and again.
Really? They need 16 lanterns?
File complaint with DEP. (311)
Revved up like a douche, another sushi-roller in the night.
WTF? It looks like stadium lighting.
There are regulations and permits issued for signs and exterior lighting on businesses. As another poster said, call 311 and refer your complaint to the DOB, or try contacting them directly.

Stop complaining, this is a major public safety issue. Those lights were put there to help airplanes from getting lost at night now that Pulino's big red neon sign is gone.
They need the stadium lighting to light the sidewalk so people can pick up their crumbled rice burger and egg drool slather.
Rice is nice, rice in a bun...light like the sun!
Monchichi is closed tonight! No stadium lighting!
