Moishe's Bake Shop has a new front window
[EVG photo from April]
In previous posts (here and here, for example) about the new sign at Moishe's Bake Shop, several commenters wondered when the longtime bakery on Second Avenue would replace the graffiti-etched front window.
Well, you might be happy to know then that Moishe's recently installed a new front window, as this photo via EVG contributor Derek Berg shows…
For whatever reasons, the shop near East Seventh Street has always seemingly been a graffiti magnet… Here's a photo from 2001 by James and Karla Murray…

Really like the old sign they had
Vote for the old sign...
about time.
How nice! I walk by every day and now those luscious looking cakes, cookies, breads and other tasty baked treats are going to be even more appetizing...if that is possible. You want to taste a real Black and White cookie? Look no further. These are the NYC authentic bakery cookie....no fooling around with success here. Fresh Challah and Rye....wow. Chocolate Seven Layer cake that melts in your mouth....beyond compare....and those Chocolate Bells are a chocaholic's heaven. No...I don't work here and never did. No....I was not paid to write this. Yes...I shop here for decades. Yes...my mouth is watering as I write this. Yes....it is nice to see a new window and yes...I will have to stop in on my way home today for some special dessert.
Finally! Hallelujah!
It's one thing to tag a building with some creative stuff (I remember that "cookie" paw - it kinda fits). But these acid tagging on glass is just vandalism.
And why do it to a long time neighborhood shop?
Glad it's finally replaced!
Yes, was sorry to lose the old sign. But on the other hand, the new one could have been a lot worse (a lot!!)
that nite shot is a beauty!!!
I heard that a customer contributed the $$ for the new windows. Is this true?
