This dessert continues to take the East Village by (ice) storm

A coming soon sign for Roll It Up ice cream has arrived at one of the empty retail spaces at 65 E. Seventh St. between First Avenue and Second Avenue.
Roll It Up will join the other coming-soon shops in the East Village that will serve rolled ice cream... Pink Bear on East 14th Street and Lab 321 on St. Mark's Place. (And, in a variation, Bingbox Snow Cream Co. recently opened on Second Avenue.)
The east storefront at No. 65 was previously home to Smooth Skin Factory.

You kid, but yes it'll last as long as the froyo shops because this is the new way of laundering money. Keep them Feds off the trail, since they are too dumb to notice it and since they are and would rather go after FIFA for corruption...
You can tell already this one will tank.
I've tried the stuff. The preparation is novel and showy but in the mouth, it's regular old fashioned ice cream. A glorified Coldstone Creamery if you will. The downside is that it has to be hand-made to order with a process that is rather laborious. Which means waiting in a slow-moving line. For ice cream. The obvious advantage of conventional ice cream parlors over this rolled business is their product is pre-made and scooping it into cones and cups can be done very quickly. Once the novelty of the rolling process wears off I wonder how these new places will fare.
Toledano strikes again ..this time it was the loved sock man ...for rolled ice cream ...Another neighborhood small buisness being pushed out by these greedy landlords ..
