Meanwhile at 7-Eleven on Avenue A...

The location at East 11th Street is participating in the Slurpee's 50th birthday.

For a limited time, there's a new birthday cake-flavored Slurpee ... as well as a Birthday Cake Slurpee donut and Slurpee-flavored Chapstick.

Slurpee Week begins tomorrow, FYI.

Not sure if the location on 14th Street between Second Avenue and Third Avenue has the special Slurpee products. A reader shared this flyer on the door...

"Slurp Your Wor"? What the hell, does patronizing 7-11 make one stupid as well as fat and chemical-ridden? What is a Wor? Why should I slurp one? Doesn't anyone in their sign department speak the King's (or Queen's) English anymore? And aren't Slurpees disgusting enough? Do we really need a doughnut that tastes like them, too? So many questions...

What is WOR ?

Reminds me of my old punk band Sugar Danger.

What ever happened with the air conditioning here? Was the issue resolved to the satisfaction of the tenants?

"Slurp Your WOR"? Is this a covert ad for the radio station at 710 AM? Or is 7-11pining for the return of the Million Dollar Movie?

The place is prob staffed by immigrants who dont speak English well. Commenting on people speaking English? Ok Donald Trump.

I'm definitely up for the Slurpee-flavored doughnut. As for the Chapstick, I use Carmex. I have industrial-strength chapped lips.

Seriously, Anon. 3:02? You are actually capable of equating puzzled reactions to a professionally created, incomprehensible sign made by some printing company at the behest of the 7-11 corporation to racism and Donald Trump? That advertisement was not made locally with magic markers and a piece of poster board by some well-meaning, English-is-not-their-first-language 7-11 employee. No, some advertising company was paid big bucks to come up with it, after which some well-paid 7-11 executives had to okay it before it was printed and hung in the windows of 7-11s, probably across the country. So get off your damn high horse, stop making outrageous and totally false accusations, and then try to figure out why you are such a race-mongering tool.

hm, as I look at this photo, I assume we are looking at the left half only of a two-piece poster. Seen together, it probably says something like

SLURP > EE
YOUR WOR > LD

Which I think we can all agree is super-dumb, so maybe everyone could take a chill pill

There's a 7 Eleven on Avenue A now, huh?

EV = NYU campus

Anonymous 7:01 -- If 7-Eleven was an NYU indicator, there would have been one on Waverly Place decades ago. The two have nothing in common.

NYC = NYU Campus. (It's in their promotional literature.)

Obscure reference to '80s arcade game "Wizard of WOR"? No, probably not...

Are people going to take advantage of the free Slurpee, since to day is 7-11?
