Signage is up at 346 E. Ninth St. between First Avenue and Second Avenue... where a smoke shop called Village Grannies is prepping to open its doors..
A quick look inside shows a variety of water pipes on display ...
Not sure if they're really for grannies,
or maybe just their new roommates.
As far as we can recall, the space was previously residential.
Thanks to Steven for the photos

Great, a bespoke, twee headshop...
A headshop for Seniors?
Can't hide what this is for. .haa
"Dave's not here, man."
Uhhhh.....Dave's EVERYwhere.....these days.
I am sure the target audience for this will simply love patronizing a place that makes them think of their Nanas. Yep. 6 months, maybe?
This space was residential for a long time; guy named Jan, who did tai chi or shiatsu or some such in the back and lived in the rest. Then he died, and the space became a very strange business that purported to ship shoes, I believe, they told me when I asked; you never saw inside, so who knows. Then maybe it was a real estate outfit? And now empty for a couple of months. This place won't last half a year.
Cash in now the power of the green green Buck is on the rise
Oh boy!! Just what the EV needs--another head shop. Two people (grannies??) who have a dream of opening a business in the EV and making a killing. Oh, can we all be invited when they fail in six months?
They need to become a dispensary in order to stay in biz.

these ladies know their stuff not for the typical smooker but people with some style, maybe that's where their name came from, their experience in life! Good luck with your new store.
