And in bubble tea news,
the Vivi Bubble Tea shop opens Wednesday on the northwest corner of Third Avenue and Ninth Street...
This is one of 30 Vivi locations nationwide,
including on 14th Street between Second Avenue and Third Avenue.
The space here
previously had Organic Avenue has a tenant.

Apparently the demand for bubble tea is so strong that they can sustain two locations within 6 blocks of each other.
It's a smart move for them to open on this stretch of Third Avenue. St. Alp's Teahouse was across the street and was popular with NYU students. If the tea is good, and there is somewhere to sit, they could do very well.
When shops or restaurants are perceived as being in different neighborhoods/spheres of influence, six blocks can be plenty of distance. Think of all of the banks, Starbucks, drugstores, pizzerias, diners, and supermarkets that aren't any farther apart and yet manage to survive. Looking forward to giving them a try.
I just passed by Vivi Bubble Tea on 14th St and they were busy. Even on an ice cold day people seem to want their bubble tea.
And don't forget the one on 8th street and Sixth avenue.
When will the bubble tea bubble pop?
