The rather retro-y neon signage arrived on Third Avenue at 11th Street for The Ainsworth, the chainlet of upscale sports bars ...
Oh, and there's the Ainsworth awning on the 11th Street side...
No word on an opening date. But when they do throw open the doors, their hours will be:
Sunday-Wednesday: 11 a.m. - 1 a.m.
Thursday-Saturday: 11 a.m. - 2 a.m.
Village Pourhouse closed here in April.

oh god no... This makes 13th step look classy
"The Ainsworth" - what a pretentious name. Are they trying to make getting drunk (starting as early as 11am each day!) sound classy? If so, FAIL!
"Upscale sports bar" -- what an oxymoron.
@6:03am. You are so right. The 13th Step is nothing compared to the Ainsworth. On the Bro Bar Loudness Scale, the Ainsworth is the one to beat
Loudness Scale Level 1: Loud but mostly tolerable: The Smith, Zum Schneider, Esperanto
Loudness Scale Level 2: Too loud most of the time: 13th Step, Tonic, The Wayland
Loudness Scale Level 3: Way too loud all of the time: The Ainsworth, Poco, Superdive
The Ainsworth will set the stage for the complete Barification of 3rd Avenue from The Bowery to Murray Hill. Can I get a Woo Hoo!? The Ainsworth Park was one of the loudest places on earth just before it closed, with a noise level similar to sitting in the front row of a Bon Jovi concert at The Meadowlands. Prepare yourselves. It’s time to move.
I feel really sorry for the residents of the building and the surrounding buildings. Having lived across the street from another, now gone thankfully, Sports Bar in the EV, I can tell you that you will not be happy about having them downstairs.
The noise and bad behavior displayed by patrons of these types of establishments are evidently of no concern to the owners of sports bars in general whose entire business is based upon how much alcohol they can move in a limited amount of time...the length of whatever game they are showing...plus the fact that games go on all the time....makes it worse.
The best advice I can give you is to do what the residents of our block did....complain about every single infraction....underage drinking, rowdy patrons, noisy patrons, fire department regulations as to size of allowed patrons and allowed seating, rats, vermin, garbage, etc. Bury them in summonses and fines and you may finally see the end of them. Yelling at them won't help because they won't be able to hear you over the screaming drunken sports fans.
Good luck, but be ready....moving away may be your best option.
It's sad that our politicians are more concerned about immigration and sanctuary city issues than quality of life issues. TOMORROW... VOTE THEM OUT!
Woo Hoo now I can Vomit wherever and whenever I damn please.
The worst of the worst Bros hang out here. It's insufferable. Sorry for the neighbors.
