And happy birth month to Ray, as the proprietor of Ray's Candy Store at 113 Avenue A will be 85 on Jan. 25.

Late on Christmas Day I finally left the house and took a walk around the hood (I don't have family and sort of hibernate with the kittens on Christmas). I passed the window of Ray's and there he was behind the counter, moving, working, smiling, with a customer who looked to be a friend just hanging out toward the back of the shop. What a joy Ray's presence is here in the community. Would that we all had such a spirit of optimism. Happy birthday Ray! And happy new year to all in the EV.
