Ancient Greek war helmet bird
AHHHHH!
Is that real? There is an owl that has been in Central Park for a while too.
Is she real?
Hoo's that?
That is a Northern Saw-whet Owl. So cool that it is in Tompkins! Please give it space if it stays around.-Ranger Dan
That's amazing! I hope the little guy sticks around a while and stays safe. According to eBird, I don't think a saw-whet has been recorded for the park -https://ebird.org/hotspot/L1799567
From Owls of New York:“Owls usually swallow their prey whole. If they aren’t hungry they will store it under their feet, on a nearby branch, or within a hollowed out portion of a tree.”Sounds just like my landlord.
