Café Social 68 reopened yesterday for the first time since mid-March here at 68 Avenue A between Fourth Street and Fifth Street.
They set up a to-go counter at the front door where you can order coffee ...
... or one of their varieties of croissants and other café fare...
For now they plan to be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I went there today. Their croissants are the best, even better (and friendlier) than Le Fournil on 2nd Ave, and much better than Madison Kaiser. They don't skimp on the butter or eggs, and the flavor is almost as good as the bakeries in Montreal, which are the best I’ve ever had.
happy to see places opening again, feeling like it's safer to do so, figuring out ways to stay in business in these hard times. hope we see even more of this happening soon, it will help me start to feel normal again....

I hope Lancelotti can open soon. I love that store and miss them dearly.
I agree, their croissants are better than most of the other bakeries around, and fresher too. They also serve great coffee.
Stopped by yesterday for a turkey, tomato, cheese croissant and cafe au lait. sooo good!
