There's a blood drive tomorrow (Thursday!) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Clemente Center on Suffolk and Rivington sponsored by
the New York Blood Center.
The nonprofit has put out another urgent call for blood donations. You need to make an appointment by calling 1-800-933-2566. You can also do so by email via this
site.

Add to the poster that there are STILL certain restrictions if you are a gay male.
Thank you, EV Grieve, for your support for Blood Drives. Your local news reporting is so key to maintaining community (esp under the alternating pressures of gentrification with its upscale short term tenancy and the impending economic downturn. We will really need you as crime inevitably rises.)
I've learned how grateful we should all be for small businesses in LES too. Chain stores don't let you put up posters and don't have neighborhood bulletin boards, not even for community events. But the small stores and bodegas do and they do it with kind, open-heartedness.
To the previous commenter: Sadly it's true that there are restrictions on Gay men donating. I know so many good people who would help save lives if they were allowed to.
There are other restrictions as well and they'd be too numerous and detailed to list and the list is always being updated so it's more efficient, I'm guessing, to list them on the website.
FYI, I don't represent the Blood Drive. I'm just a neighborhood volunteer.
