I remember sitting in Phebe's during Fleet Week 1991 - the USS John F.. Kennedy was the carrier in that year - buying the various groups of swabbies five dollar pitchers of beer. Good times.
I will never forget when I was schlepping laundry home from the laundromat on 1st Ave. a few years back and a baby faced sailor with a southern drawl said, Maam, can I help you with that? I politely declined.
