The maintenance of our city trees is abysmal.
Related, there is another big elm behind the park offices in Tompkins Square Park that is completely dead. You can see it through the fence from the skateboard area, but the top is also visible from the flag pole by the ping pong tables. No leaves. This was one of the biggest in the park.
Oh no! That's one of my favorite trees! I just got back to see it, looks like a painful break, and the tree is crawling with ants. I hope the tree makes it.
