Google notes that they are "permanently closed," though there isn't any mention of a shutter on the restaurant's website or social media properties. We contacted them for comment and were told someone would get back to us.
Coming-soon notices arrived here in January 2020 ... making this the first Manhattan outpost for the New Jersey-based chainlet, which currently has four locations in the Garden State.

I was really excited when they opened but the one time I went I wasn’t so impressed. IIRC the fish and chips were close to $20 and came with two fairly small pieces. Didn’t seem sustainable.
Can we reopen Tinto Fino here if this closes down?
I really wanted this place to be great I do love a fish and chips. It was mad mediocre and expensive though. Still went occasionally because I like fried seafood. Hope they pull through.
Agree with both comments about how meh this place was. I remember signing up for their email dist list before they were opened as I was excited for fish n chips in the neighborhood - still miss Salt and Battery’s location on 2nd Ave.
