Today, the city Board of Elections released the ranked-choice results. After four rounds, Epstein, who has repped State Assembly District 74 since 2018, had 57% of the vote, with Sarah Batchu second at 43%. (Final results here.)
As for the race for mayor, Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani secured a majority of the vote after two rounds of ranked choice tabulations, according to the Board of Elections and published reports. (Final results here.)
Mamdani tallied 56%, or a total of 545,334 votes. Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo came in second with 44% of the votes, or 428,530 votes.
Mamdani will now face off against Mayor Eric Adams, who's running as an independent, and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa in November. He may also see Cuomo again.
The General Election is scheduled for Nov. 4, with early voting set to begin on Oct. 25.

Congrats, Harvey, and thanks to Andrea and Sarah for running!
Good. At least from what I could tell, he was very determined about trying to make sure the St. Brigid's asylum-seekers were in bearable conditions and got things they needed.
Congratulations to Mr. Epstein. Well deserved!
Ditto what he said.
It is a very nice feeling to be excited about an election outcome. Congrats Harvey!!
Congrats! I hope Harvey Epstein can revisit Carlina Rivera's failed "SHOW" - Street health, outreach, and wellness - initiative as we've NEVER seen it on the 14th Street between First Avenue and Avenue A despite her macabre publicity photo-op last summer.
Working on this block and having to deal with people in dire need of mental health services who rob, fight, and pull knives on us ... this shouldn't be normalized.
If there are cops on the block, people berate them and pull that ACAB BS. Deliver something better. Give us the "SHOW" and a reason to believe it can be done better. We're waiting.
I think we are all waiting to see what he can deliver and hopefully he will step up to his new role. At the moment all that can be said is that he's not Carlina Rivera.
Why revisit anything from the Rivera year at all? She was the definition of a politician who only cared about you up until it got her elected... then *WHOOOSH!* she was out of here. Her office was a professional redirectory, routing calls to anywhere except their own office to discuss the things they needed to tackle. Rivera was a sellout.
That's terrifying that you endure that working on that block. It's been getting worse and worse, you are absolutely right.
And who was elected to Harvey’s old job representing the State Assembly in District 74?
I agree with the comments above Carlina Rivera. It always sucks when you vote for a politician and then when they win they just disrespect the people they are supposed to represent. I’m glad I did not vote for her, or Adams, or Trump, etc etc
OIC, there will be special elections this fall to fill those seats: Epstein, Holyman-Sigal, Mamdani, etc. Got it.
