Fourth of JulyWe are a united peopleConfident that every shadowWill pass over our drinking waterMove on without immolationOf our beautiful womenBecause ours is sacredThe distillation of many songs ofThe unquestionable legendsOf our shipwrecked ancestorsThe same shadows hidBehind blessed sea wallsWhich they had built so thatConversations could be hadAway from the occultationsOf the various birds lined upWell into the night waitingTo carry out innate missions. For us it is just and properFor the wars to endTime and againNew ideologies to begin

Donald Davis-He’s a poet, you know it.
And I have several very valid websites that this site repeatedly marks as invalid.
Another exquisite offering from Johnny.
Thought provoking, beautiful.
A perfect poem for those of us who can’t find anything to celebrate. Thank you.
