Tow story

We spotted this tow truck on First Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue the other day, with the back end devoted to scenes from the 1993 film "A Bronx Tale."

Which naturally got us thinking about what we'd (hypothetically) put on our own tow truck. (We do not own a tow truck.)

We landed on 1957's "Sweet Smell of Success," with a pic of J.J. Hunsecker (Burt Lancaster) and Sidney Falco (Tony Curtis)... with the quote, "I love this dirty town."

Feel free to share what you would want detailed on the back of your tow truck. (You don't need to own one either.)

Choosing my favorite line from the most New York movie ever, Jerry Stiller saying "Even great men have to pee" in The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.

Choosing the New York movie that means the most to me personally, it would be something from The President's Analyst, but the film doesn't have a lot of lines that work out of context.

Wow thank you for that information and this website for checking vehicles like this! Seriously! This is the kind of vehicle driven by the kind of human being that does not care about human life or safety outside of “me and mine”. He/She/They Whatever! Doesn’t belong in shared urban spaces. ! Look at the extension of the (whatever that is) beyond the width of the vehicle - with no safety ribbons or flags! I’m sure The truck has the hugely over extended Side mirrors that take out bicyclists all the time!
