Another month, another Superdive scratch; Plus, Avenue A bars give it another go tonight

Once again, Superdive was on the agenda for the CB3/SLA meeting... to transfer their license, etc. This makes four consecutive months that they've bowed out of the meeting ...

Meanwhile tonight... the bars who were rejected at last month's meeting on the northern part of Avenue A are all back on the docket...

Renewal with Complaint History
Forbidden City (Lo-Eng Inc), 212 Ave A (op)

Applications within Resolution Areas
Percy's (Steelbar 180 Inc), 210-212 Ave A (op) (Al Diwan)

Alterations/Transfers/Upgrades
MBM Lounge Inc, 212 Ave A (trans/op) (Forbidden City)

And another scratch...
Jay Cox Coal, 503-505 E 12th St (trans/op)... This is the former Mundial/Totem space...

I'm also not aware of any community outreach by these establishments since the last meeting...

Superdive continues to be, well, Superdive

Superdive isn't going quietly into the nightlife... looks like they're here for longer...or they're just taunting you...

Here are their summer plans, as Eater reported:

Thursdays: 7:30 beerpong tournament. Cost of entry is the beer you drink during the tourney. Winning team drinks for free all night. After the tourney we celebrate with live music and karaoke.

Fridays: Wet T-shirt contest, with a male AND female winner of $100 cash each and free drinks.

Saturdays: Endless Champagne Disco Ball. 11-1 $25 all you can drink champagne. Music by world-class Disco DJ, Christian.

Haha. Funny, guys. You can do better than this, though.

NOW what's going on with Superdive...?

NOW what's going on with Superdive...?

The Keg Tapping Gang at Superdive appeared to be all set for this month's CB3/SLA meeting ... As Eater noted, "The Superdive space is on the docket, and apparently the new tenants want to change the size and location of the bar and add a kitchen."

But, as you can see, the "corp to be formed" part of this equation is now a scratch... (again... they have been a scratch the last few months...)

So, there are a lot of possible reasons for this scratch ... paperwork... the deal fell through... there was actually never a deal, etc. So maybe they'll remodel the space but not transfer the license...

Meanwhile, the We're open Friday and Saturday Nights/Yay! signs have been removed...

The last days of Superdive?

A reader passed by Superdive last night... and it was open. Unusual, seeing as the signs out front say the bar is only open Friday and Saturday nights. Per the reader: "They had kind of a raucous crowd in there. Reminded me of a frat house enjoying its last days before shutdown."

And the best part? There was an ambulance out front. The reader said it had nothing to do with Superdive. But! "It made for a funny shot."

Hmm... Or maybe Superdive management hired the ambulance to park out front... to make it look extra chaotic! Kind of like the Chiefs did in "Slap Shot."

Superdive officially moving from the East Village; warnings issued in Murray Hill, the LES

Eater has the news: It's official: Superdive is leaving 200 Avenue A... but not before they "have a month long blowout. " The owners told Eater that they are in" final negotiations on a space on Third Avenue in the 30's and another down on the LES that is 'bigger and more heavily trafficked.'"

Feel free to leave your warm remembrances in the comments. Here's part of one comment: "The Superdive concept is an utter East Village failure and laughingstock."

At Superdive last night

The "fun" light was on and everything but no one was inside drinking kegs. (Not being one of the two nights the place is open anyway, of course.)

Perhaps the lights were all on for any potential suitors... Eater followed up on its scoop that the place is for rent. Eater heard from the dudes in charge: "[T]he management tells Eater it was actually meant to be a 'For Sale' sign because 'we found a new location, and want to get this one sold so we can move onto crazier super things.'

Uh-huh. Meanwhile, the "for rent" sign was merely moved by workers to the other side of the building...

RIP Superdive: Is our 10-month nightmare over?

Eater brings us the story (and photo) of a "for rent" sign going up at 200 Avenue A, the home of late to Superdive. As Eater notes: "This is just the latest and probably the final twist in the ten month history of the East Village bar that has offered customers kegs, beer pong, all you can drink Champagne bashes, and of course, a midget."

For second consectutive month, Superdive transer off the CB3/SLA docket

Superdive was originally on tonight's CB3/SLA docket for a full transfer of their liquor license.... no more, though, as a look at the updated rundown shows...

Just like last month!

Meanwhile! The smashing good times continue at Superdive!

January!

Saturday!

Sunday!

Pretty soon they should just remove the glass and go with the open air look...

Superdive now only open two nights a week -- but new hours are on the way

Uh-oh, though -- new spring hours on Monday, May 3. Does this mean the joint will be open during the week when/if the new owners take over?

St. Superdivey's Day

Walked by Superdive last night... even though their winter hours are posted Thursday through Saturday... the place was open... at 8ish, four people were there, that's awfully early for this place... still, I couldn't help wonder why the back part of the bar was draped off...

Beer and loathing: Superdive eyes Las Vegas expansion

Eater has the first word...Aside from expansion news to Las Vegas (glitter gulp!) and a second NYC location, Eater notes:

"Also on their agenda, a 'SUPER backyard,' 'SUPER Frozen Drinks,' and 'SUPERNESIAN Bowl Drinks.'"

File under "urban legends."

Liquor license transfer in the works for Superdive

The Lo-Down has the early word on the CB3 March Liquor License Applications... and as they note:

Superdive on Avenue A (transfer of full liquor license – this will get the EV’ers going)

Indeed!

More on this later, of course!

Meanwhile, as Eater reported yesterday, Superdive's kegmaster has moved on...

Superdive is now cheaper

Back in November, Eater reported that Superdive was on the market for $350,000 key money (the price you pay just for the space)...plus $10k a month in rent... Our friends over at East Village Feed have now noted that the price has dropped to $225,000. (Tower Brokerage listing half way down the page...)

Meanwhile, Superdive was open this past weekend... and apparently all is well... (via Twitter):
