Owners of Frank-Lil' Frankie's-Supper taking over the former Graceland space
Earlier today, I posted information about the new "eco-friendly" Italian restaurant coming to the former Graceland space on Avenue A and Second Street... Well! Thanks to some sleuthing by EV Grieve reader RyanAvenueA .... we now know the person behind this new eatery are none other than Frank Prisinzano, who owns Frank, Lil' Frankie's and Supper... (For the record: Ryan called the number on the CB3 flyer and got the Frank Caters voicemail...) More to come on this...

Tried to delete my comment; I had the wrong Frankie, was thinking of the Spuntino guys. Take it all back--another Supper around the corner from Supper. Hell.
Ew ew ew ew ew. I live on 2nd st. and Supper does nothing to stop their guests from clogging the sidewalk. Now the corner will be gross as well.
Hmm, I'm not sure what to think. In the beginning, I loved Frankie's, Frank's and Supper - the food was excellent, which is, no doubt, a big reason these places are so popular. The trouble is they get so damn crowded, I can't go to any of them any more. And, anyone who has tried to get down the sidewalk outside any of these places on any given night knows how obnoxious and irritating the crowd is. Maybe, since the community has been doing such a great job of making its voice heard at the CB3 meetings lately, this problem can be addressed.
can't wait to fight through another sidewalk crowd on my way home to 2nd street. i'll miss Kevin at Graceland.
Well I'm excited because I love his food and I love the prices. I never break the bank there! I'm not sure what the big deal is about the waiting people on the sidewalk...just cross the street if you don't want to deal. Maybe it's that I'm young at heart but I like my restaurants to be lively and spirited like his restaurants are, otherwise why leave your house!
and Lil Frankies IS very expensive!!!! It costs me 35 for a personal pizza and a pile of arugula.
Um, OK Frank. You're getting as bad as Mcnally. Going to ruin our quiet nice corner. FUCK.
Great blog! came across it searching for the new diablo royale location.
Very exciting about Graceland- been a fan of Frank's and Lil frankies for years!
Yeah, Anon, I can just cross the street to avoid restaurant crowds. Of course, I would have to move house to the other side of the street, but anything to keep those inconsiderate bastards happy.
i agree with goggla - i love supper's food, but it's another place that locals can no longer go (clinton street bakery? hello?) because it's too crowded allll the tiiiime. good for them, bad for us.
Is he opening up another location still on 2nd St & 2nd Ave? I know there was talk about that but didn't know if it got passed.
Hi Steph... You're right... hasn't been much activity there of late...
I'm still trying to understand what "eco friendly italian restaurant" means. lol!
Although I am often one of the first to gripe about the sinister next thing, I still remember when Graceland opened and many people thought it was an intrusion and "they" were short-changing too much.
It never was part of the old Old Neighborhood.
"Eco-friendly italian restaurant;"
sure, the toilets empty directly to the giant compost in the basement, and the food is cooked by the rising heat. The dishes are scrubbed with sand, and all the customers swam across one of the rivers (BYO Water available there)...
For all those who do not want another Frank restaurant blocking the sidewalk on E 2 St. Please attend the public comment meeting at CB3. Also any time you see the sidewalk blocked call 311 and also fill out the online complaint form on CB3's website. It really does make a difference.
I don't understand what all the fuss is about. NYC is known for its restaurants, nightlife, shopping, fashion, and culture. Do you want to turn it into another bodega, bank or better yet maybe a CVS! YESSS!! so we can have 4 banks and 5 bodega's and 3 pharmacy's on the same block. We'll end up with a city full of starbucks, banks, and pharmacies! Im standing up for the restaurant not because I know them personally but I enjoy their food and I would like to fight to help keep this city what it really was and is.
@jessica — you are quite right. nice to see there are some folks living in the neighborhood that understand the neighborhood in which they live.
all those still among the living: Please attend the public comment meeting at CB3.
I live around the corner from Lil Frankie's and have always found them to be a considerate neighborhood. I walk by Lil Frankie's late at night 2-3 times a week, and while there are plenty of customers, they're far from rowdy. Good for them that they're popular---I'd hate to see another boarded up biz in our community.
Personally, even though one of my kids' friends' parents owned Gracefully, the way the overcharged for everything kept me from shopping there.
To be a upright lenient being is to have a make of openness to the mankind, an ability to trust unsure things beyond your own pilot, that can lead you to be shattered in uncommonly exceptional circumstances pro which you were not to blame. That says something exceedingly important about the prerequisite of the honest life: that it is based on a trustworthiness in the fitful and on a willingness to be exposed; it's based on being more like a weed than like a treasure, something somewhat fragile, but whose mere particular attraction is inseparable from that fragility.
