Thanksgiving dinner at the Hotel Manhattan

Circa 1900... click the image to increase the photo size... $1.25 for venison steak in chafing dish? Outrageous! Damn yuppies...

The hotel was located at 42nd Street and Madison Avenue.

Such heady times--the menu looks quite promising. Happy Thanksgiving and have fun. I am just having a capuccino and a slice of pumpkin pie.

Gosh, it's always so hard to decide between the English Snipe and the Sauteed Partridge! Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm going to go with the green turtle soup in a somewhat sideways Thanksgiving day nod to Dr. Seuss. Happy Thanksgiving!

grouse would be my first choice
so hard to choose
so much to pick from
and almost everything under $1.00

may you and yours have a happy thanksgiving and thank you for your blog

so, this is in lieu of grieve's annual live-blogging of the macy's thanksgiving parade on tv? was looking forward to that.
last year's hosts were hot.
