The unidentified man pictured here slid the piece of paper to the female teller in the Chase Bank on Second Avenue and East 9th Street at about 9:15 a.m. Friday.
The note, written in black ink, read, “I have a gun. Give me all your money and return the slip to me with the money.”
The teller told her manager what happened, and the manger ordered her to hand over $776. The crook escaped with the loot.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, about 5-foot-7 with a medium build and fairly clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a black wrap around his sunglasses and a black waits length jacket.
Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Described t he guy as clean shaven....This guy in the pic has a beard!
I think this guy must have been a frat boy. They are the only people that cause problems in the neighborhood these days.
Isn't that Chase on 10th street?
Or is there another one on 9th now too?
I haven't been over that way for at least 4 days so I wouldn't be surprised :)
If the Second Avenue Deli was still there, this guy may have had an egg cream or roast beef sandwich instead....
Was it 10th or st. Marks? There are branches on both those corners, but not on 9th.
If I see him I will certainly not rat him out. Chase is the real robber.
I'm going with the East 10th Street branch. Anyway, Chase really does need a branch at 9th too. Especially with the lack of parking spaces because of the bike lane....
You need to rob a bank to eat at the 2nd Ave Deli these days.
The economy's doin' great, isn't it ?
Chase is at Ninth Street, where they took over the Second Avenue Deli space AND at Eighth Street, where they took over a Washington Mutual space after they absorbed that bank.
I'm with Larry: "Bank robbery" is a subjective term and it can be argued that Chase commits bank "robbery" on a global scale!!
2nd Avenue Deli was at TENTH and 2nd, not 9th...
chase is at 10th street and second avenue
and at 8th street and second where they took over WaMu
chase owns that building on 8th st.
grieve, you're right, we need another branch on 9th street.
perhaps across the street from the hsbc.
oh, that's veselkas.
oh well.
I stand corrected....
