Avenue A Sushi closed last spring...
And reopened as something else... and then closed again...
I've lost track of the various incarnations of late... In any event, there's a new sign now...
Hmm. "Mexican-Italian Infusion." (!?)
Meanwhile, during the weekend, a bartender there allegedly smoked crack and locked himself inside the Bistro. Bob Arihood has that story here at the much-welcomed return of Neither More Nor Less.

was this the same location of the old kim's and opaline? i moved last year...unfortunately.
It's the end of an era with Avenue A sushi gone. The place had gone downhill in recent years but it was great back in the day.
You can tell how hard these guys are trying just by their selection of fonts.
Bistro cafe is redundant. Like saying cafe cafe. And to add to the infusion, there's still a little Sushi bar up in the corner of the sign.
Grieve , whats this "Mexican -Italian infusion " ,? Is this some kind of tea?
Infusion? More like confusion.
I had not been there in years, but Avenue A sushi was the first place I ate after I moved here almost a decade ago. It was late at night and my girlfriend took me walking down Avenue A. I was flush with eagerness and everything seemed so alive. We stopped in at this funky black-lit sushi dive bar. WOW this is East Village, I thought. I was so excited to be here.
