A reader sent along this photo from last night ... just some random urban art (or, if you prefer,
vandalism) outside the former Plum Pizzeria on Second Avenue ... where
Grub Street reported yesterday that noted chef Wylie Dufresne will open a pub concept early next year. Reaction to this news
has been mixed.

FYI Mr. Dufresne, you might as well put up a "please vandalize me and use me as a homeless shelter" sign if you're going to leave your storefront unlit and vacant in this neighborhood.
Somebody help me: What was this space before Plum Pizzeria? And before that. Bonus points (which I am not equipped to offer, in fact) for before before that.
"Woo" is often misspelled, but that's a good try!
I'm not a fan of all the bars in the neighborhood but grafitti is a crime. I hope they get arrested.
This appears to be, yes vandalism, from a new tagger in the area who leaves large, obnoxious tags on buildings regardless of who may own or rent the spaces and landmark status is no bar to this twit.
Witless tagging is bad enough but this is also just plain dull crap.
Before Plum Pizza it was a place called "Cafe Brama" I believe.
Was this the Bandito space? Or was that where 16 Handles is now?
Back in the 70s and 80s it was a local bar called something like Eileen's or Elaine's.
