Over on Second Avenue near East Seventh... there's a new tenant for the former Spa Belles location ... A Twister self-serve frozen yogurt shop...
Here's the description of one from Long Island:
Twister Frozen Yogurt is a family-owned and -operated, self-serve frozen yogurt shop. It features an ever-rotating selection of 16 flavors, including low-fat and sugar-free options, as well as sorbets. The toppings bar stocks 40 toppings, including fresh fruit, nuts, hot fudge and more.
Meanwhile. The Yogurt Station remains closed on St. Mark's Place ... the NLYU Yogurt on First Avenue near East 10th Street closed after just a few months in business... And there's still no sign of the Yogurt Crazy shop on Third Avenue.

I am sick of twee fro-yo oozing out of every corner of the city, sick of all the arrogant gelatos and haughty $5 a scoop artisanal stuff with the belabored nomenclature and what not. Sick of it all. I'm going back to good oldfashioned ice cream from a tub from the supermarket frozen section.
No fret, no worry... here today, gone tomorrow.
You left out the Red Mango (St. Marks) chain that came and went. This place will disappear, too. It would be nice to have a worthwhile place there, though.
You're right BT... I also didn't mention Yooglers, which is coming to Broadway and East 10th Street. Jeremiah Moss wrote about them recently...
I dunno 11:36, I had some vanilla gelato last night - I splurged - at the place down on 2nd Ave near 3rd Street, it beat anything I could buy in the market.
I never see anyone in those yogo places anyway...
Enough with this stupid trend! Does every street have to be a teenagers food court at the mall wet dream?
There's 16 Love Handles on Second Ave between 10th and 9th.
"16 Love Handles"! Perfect rename. Thank you for this.
