I'm getting really pissed at the rightwing noise machine that is trying to make out that the new mayor failed the city by not keeping the streets clean of snow from minute one. Usually the City gets 24 hours before the whiners start, the rightwing bully attacks started yesterday during the storm. I bet the NY POst already had their front page laid out days ago, freshly flown in from australia.
Marcia Kramer is on CBS is doing the same snow job as the NY Post. She never bothered visiting any low rent neighborhoods to see if they were having problems. Listening to Marcia you'd think only the Yupper East Side got hit with 10-12 inches of show. Or maybe its because the snow up there is so much whiter so they should get plowed first?
This was are record setting snowstorm, and the NY Post can't keep their story straight, on the cover it reads "Shambles, Turmoil as 'Blas Botches Early Snow." the cover picture is a daytime shot of a bus driving on an already plowed street with less than an inch of snow, taken during rush hour at the height of the storm. Guess they couldn't find a good picture of an actual chaos.
Talk about a tale of two cities, just open up the paper and inside the Post criticizes De Blasio for opening the schools despite the state of emergency declared by Cuomo.
But wait NY Post, on the cover you were ignoring the fact that this was a record setting storm, instead blaming De Blasio and Sanitation for not plowing fast enough at the height of the snowfall, as if that's possible in a record setting storm. Now you're telling us the conditions are so bad that the schools should have stayed closed today even though the storm is over and most streets are now clear. Wait, I'm confused, but then so is the NY Post.
If the sun explodes tomorrow wiping out he solar system, the Post will blame it on De Blasio.
It's particularly hilarious watching these Yupper East Siders whining that they didn't get plowed but the Upper West Side did. Most UESers don't go near the UWS except to go to Zabar's or to pick up the kids at private school, and if the streets are so bad and impassable, how did they even get over there?
When the previous blizzards came and they got plowed first, the Yupper East Siders never complained. Now they are taking out their class warfare on the rest of the city because they miss the good old days of getting preferential treatment. Welcome to De Blasio Town, where everyone gets treated just the same.

Most people are going to assume this storm is named after Janus Joplin.
